ARTHUR BROUNS – “The River (From “Blood Wedding”)”
We were very struck while listening to this track. Arthur Brouns was able to create a very cinematic sound design on his track The River (From “Blood Wedding”). The track is a mix of traditional, electronic and orchestral elements with influences drawing from classical music, Bulgarian folklore and contemporary electronic music. While very simple in appearance, the underlying sounds that are presented in the background, create a compelling foundation for the main instrument above it. The track is an adaptation of Federico García Lorca’s ‘Bodas de Sangre’, and we do feel that this rendition of the Spanish poet is really on point.
SODA CRACKER JESUS – “Might Need A Gun”
We don’t often share rock music, but when we do it we do it with style. That’s why we chose SOda Cracker Jesus with the track “Might Need A Gun”. The track starts with a vibe and evolution that reminds us of the post-punk heroes IDLES. Anyway, the track is way more layered with electronic elements, and more intricate guitar parts that make the song even progressive rock in a way. The peculiar vocal style is very engaging and uplifting. The solo also has some psychedelic vibes that we really dig. That’s an alternative rock hidden gem that you shouldn’t miss out on.
VIDPOET – “Art Therapy, Pt. 3”
This next music project is what makes us declare that the music in our Hyperspace article is literally out of this world. VIDPOET just delivered an amazing EP called “Art Therapy, Pt. 3”. We had such fun listening to this release, as it takes inspiration from many genres, including Gangsta Rap but also trap and even Reggae like in the track Present the Vid Humbly. We can say that old school rap is what opens and closes this incredible release with the songs Microwave Burrito and Mustache Blues. The song Spacey is the most experimental one, and we loved the outer space vibes on it.
